Candles are more than just decor—they’re little moments of calm, comfort, and beauty that transform a space. At Diva Life, we believe every flame should shine bright, burn clean, and last as long as possible. That’s why we’re sharing our top tips for getting the most out of your candles and make them last longer, while keeping safety and sustainability in mind.
Trim Your Wick
Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to about ¼ inch. This helps the candle burn evenly, prevents soot, and keeps the flame from flickering too high. It’s a simple step that can extend the life of your candle dramatically.
Let It Pool
The first burn is the most important. Always allow the wax to melt across the entire surface before extinguishing. This prevents “tunneling” (when wax burns down the middle and leaves unused wax on the sides) and ensures a long, even burn every time.
Burn in Intervals
Candles aren’t meant to stay lit all day. For the best results, burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time. This keeps the wax fresh, avoids overheating, and ensures your fragrance remains consistent.
Keep It Clean
Dust, debris, or leftover wick trimmings in your wax can affect how the candle burns. Before lighting, check the surface to keep your flame pure and your space safe.
Safety First
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, curtains, or flammable items. Never leave a burning candle unattended. A safe candle is a long-lasting candle.
Store Smart
Keep candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Heat and light can fade the fragrance and discolor the wax. With proper storage, your candles will be ready to burn beautifully whenever you need them.
At Diva Life, we design every candle with care, but how you enjoy them makes all the difference. With a little mindfulness, your candles will glow longer, cleaner, and brighter—making every burn a moment worth savoring.
